Seventh grade geography provides students with the opportunity to travel around the world. Students are currently learning about the causes of conflicts in the Middle East.

Current Events:
It is important that middle school students develop an understanding of current events. Students must research and lead an oral discussion of two current events per trimester.

Second Current Event Date for the First Trimester:
November 13th/Continent: North America

1. Students must turn in a written report along with their oral presentation. The oral presentation must show the students' understanding of the events (including, who, what, when, where, why and how) 10 points
2. Students must give an opinion about the information in the article and use information from the article to make their points. 10 points
3.Students must explain how this article affects the lives of people in a particular region, country, or in the world. 10 points
4. Students must use proper speech etiquette, including making eye contact with the audience, speaking in a loud, clear voice, and standing in a comfortable position.
